What's Hot

September 7, 2004

For those of you who saw the long-anticipated TODAY SHOW this morning, I apologize, as it wasn't even worth watching much less taping or making a special effort to watch it.  Was it?  They had plenty of time to show me typing, frame after frame of the ocean, showing the Border Patrol stopping a handful of illegals, talking to Salvador Reza twice and an illegal alien saying they're trapped here and can't go home because of the U.S. immigration policy, but no time for my showing the AHCCCS application and showing the reading the areas of immunity to illegal aliens; nor did they air my statement that we already had 79 visa programs--how would Bush's #80 work any better or get enforced any better than the 79 already on the books, not to mention the very workable employer sanction law on the books since 1986 that's not enforced either?  Why doesn't anyone show the Mexican army on its southern border shooti ng immigrants who try to cross from Guatemala?  Plus, by airing the Kerry clip after my statement that my family was not voting for Bush because we feel betrayed, that may have seemed to some that we are voting for Kerry, which certainly isn't true either.  They also shot three videos of Virginia Abernethy giving one fact, one study, one great statistic after another, not one of which they aired, despite shooting three full videotapes of her.  So, after such a disappointing show, it's hard to believe NBC really wants to portray this issue accurately, when they had every chance to and didn't.  What a pity.  Now you know why, other than having zero time, I don't watch TV.  I guess Lou Dobbs, Joe Scarborough, and Fox News are still our best bets for the best coverage of our issue.  Again, I'm sorry . . . it could have, and should have, been sooooooooo good.  -  Kathy
