Illegal Immigration Backlash in Arizona By Frosty Wooldridge Jul 23, 2004 Back to News Articles (Actually, this author jumped the gun by calling our initiative Prop 200. We're always going to be Protect Arizona NOW, only instead of Protect Arizona NOW with I-03-2004, we're going to be Protect Arizona NOW with Prop 200.) _______________________________ Ten years ago, California voters saw their state being invaded by an unending illegal alien armada. In an effort to save themselves since the Federal Government, even if injected with steroids, couldn't uphold U.S. immigration laws--voters overwhelmingly supported Proposition 187. It halted services and public taxpayer dollars for illegal aliens. Governor Gray Davis scuttled it in the courts. He's out and Arnold is in, but not doing much better. Today, California voters scream as if dwelling in Dante's "Inferno" as their state blazes in financial flames with $38 billion in debt, three million illegal aliens milling about the welfare lines, trash from one end of the countryside to the other, roads in eternal gridlock and Spanish is the new state bird singing on every radio station. Enter the citizen-driven American battle zone of Arizona! Call it 'Custer's Last Stand,' or "Remember the Alamo," or from Tom Hank's movie 'Apollo Thirteen' when mission control said, "I'd like to think this is America's finest hour." It matters little what you call it, but the fact is; our government punched us into the ropes. However, we stand up! We won't be defeated! We're going to get into your face 'girlie-men' members of Congress! Illegal aliens, estimated at over 500,000, like leeches, prey on every aspect of Arizona's welfare and public assistance systems. Illegals cost state taxpayers over $1 billion annually or $700.00 in cash out of every taxpayer's pockets. Illegal aliens' kids cost an average of $7,000.00 per child K-12, over and above any taxes they might pay. It's so dangerous on the border, citizens, both men and women, pack heat everywhere they go. Drug routes, human traffickers, smuggling and disease enters daily through the most dangerous national park in the USA: Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Where is the United States government and what are they doing? Your guess is as good as mine. However, Arizona is about to make a national statement since our Congress won't do its sworn job to uphold and protect its citizens. Congress won't enforce our immigration laws. Voila! Estimates range from 10 to 13 million illegal aliens now residing in America. They cause crime, disease, welfare fraud, anchor babies, eat up food stamps, public housing and use our schools without mercy. Just as this nation woke up after Pearl Harbor, this immigration invasion is no less dangerous to the welfare of our country. American citizens are taking action. Protect Arizona Now 2004 received ample signatures to be placed on the November ballot. It will become the template for other states swimming in red ink, crime, disease, schools being overrun and worse from the illegal immigration invasion. Aided by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, Kathy McKee and her cadre of faithful garnered 190,000 signatures to gain a spot on the ballot. Not to be silenced, mass immigration advocates will distort and mislead the facts on the initiative. Their end goal is 'Reconquista of Aztlan' or the retaking of Border States back into Mexico. What does Proposition 200 accomplish? Since it is a federal crime to illegally register to vote if you are not a citizen of the USA, Prop 200 requires voters to document their citizenship and present photo ID when voting. It prohibits public agencies from accepting insecure ID cards like the Mexican issued Matricular ID card to show eligibility for public benefits. In other words, if you're legally here, you're fine. If not, go back to your own country. Requires state and local employees who discover a violation of federal immigration law to make a report and file it with federal immigration authorities. In other words, we're getting back to a nation of law and order. What a concept Mexico might apply to its government! Why is Proposition 200 necessary? Since California couldn't survive its illegal alien invasion, how could Arizona? Since our citizens elected Arizona Senator John McCain, Senator Kyle, Congressmen Kolbe and Flake, and most other congressman WON'T do their jobs, we have to do their work for them. Yes, but why not let the federal government take care of illegal immigration? It's in their jurisdiction? Yes, so was 9/11. Look at it this way--my grandmother bakes the best chocolate chip cookies in America, but if she won't turn the oven to the correct temperature, mix the batter right, or won't take them out before they are burned to charcoal black, what good does that do me? Fact is, our government isn't doing its job and we're being invaded by an endless Third World armada. Arizona is about to bake a new kind of pastry: It's called American apple pie drenched in red, white and blue, served up with the Pledge of Allegiance ringed with "In God We Trust," honoring our founding fathers, the rule of law, our Constitution and brought back into main streets of America with the song, "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy." Enough of this politically correct crap! We love the 'Fonz,' 'Leave It To Beaver,' "Mayberry RFD,' 'Superman,' 'Thanksgiving,' and 'Christmas Break' as our culture. We love baseball, football, hockey and basketball along with all our sports. When you're an American and legally here and want to become an American, you're welcome. If you're illegal or don't want to become an American who speaks English, go home and make your own country better. Prop 200 will help you understand that. Will Prop 200 fail like California's Prop 187? Not this time. Arizona learned from California's mistake. We're talking states rights. It's worded to comply with Federal Law. In other words, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. You don't fool Yankee ingenuity more than once. When Proposition 200 passes in Arizona, it will be taken up in Georgia, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, South Carolina, Illinois, Nevada, Utah and many other states where they still have a chance. All those illegally in this country are about to learn what it is to have the politicians going after "The American Voter." Alas, California is lost to the Mexican invasion as is New Mexico and Texas. Expect those states to become manifestations of the Third World in the coming years. For the rest of us, we can still save our states and our lives and the American Dream. One thing is for certain; this country is in for one hell of a battle for its very existence. ______________________________________________ Frosty Wooldridge is a teacher, author and has bicycled 100,000 miles around the globe to see overpopulation up close and ugly.
