Arizona immigration referendum gets national money By Mike Sunnucks The Business journal, Phoenix April 19, 2004 ...The controversial Protect Arizona Now (PAN) proposition requires prospective voters and those seeking state government services to prove they are U.S. citizens. Federal mandates related to undocumented aliens -- such as those in the areas of health care and education -- are not subject to PAN... The PAN group needs to collect 122,000 valid petition signatures by July 1 to qualify for the November ballot. Those efforts got a boost recently with a $100,000 contribution from the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
